Celebs team up with Baby Buggy to help moms in need

Tiffani Thiessen and Elisabeth Rohm, both actresses and moms, issued a nationwide call for kindness in support of Baby Buggy, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential equipment, products, clothing and services to families in need.

The initiative is called Do the KIND Thing and I'm sharing it with our Pregnancy and Baby readers because it supports a great cause.

Tiffani Thiessen and Elisabeth Rohm, two actresses I have adored for years, are challenging people across the country to carry out one act of kindness. If enough individuals pledge to participate by March 6, the celeb moms will deliver diapers and other vital items to impoverished families in New York City and Los Angeles via Baby Buggy.

Living in California with its high unemployment rate, I'm especially happy to hear about any program that helps moms and babies in need.

"More and more families are facing poverty every day." Tiffani Thiessen said. "In fact, in California alone, a child is born into poverty every five minutes."

To help address the needs of struggling families, Tiffani and Elisabeth have both called on people to carry out one act of kindness by lending a helping hand to a parent, which could mean holding a door for a mom or dad with a stroller or babysitting free of charge.

If enough people visit and accept this challenge by March 6, Tiffani and Elisabeth will both pay it forward in support of Baby Buggy and deliver diapers and other necessary parenting supplies to families in need in New York City and Los Angeles.

"This is an issue that cannot afford to be overlooked, and we are thrilled to Do the KIND Thing in support of Baby Buggy and give people everywhere the opportunity to be a part of the solution -- simply by carrying out one act of kindness," added Elisabeth Rohm.

So, what are you waiting for?! Visit and take the challenge. I'm going to do it -- it's simple and will help moms and babies who needs it.

Each month, KIND challenges people everywhere to carry out a specific act of kindness with the power to make a big difference in the lives of people who need it most. If -- and only -- if enough people sign up to complete the monthly KINDING Missions, KIND pays it forward on a larger scale by carrying out a BIG KIND Act for a group of people that really needs it. To date, Do the KIND Thing has inspired hundreds of thousands of unexpected acts of kindness and bettered the lives of more than half a million people in need.
