Your question
I'm expecting twins. Are there modifications I should make to my fitness routine?

The expert answers
You should definitely discuss your exercise plans with your healthcare provider. Many women expecting twins are able to continue exercising throughout their pregnancies. However, many women find that they need to cut back or completely stop their exercise programs by the end of the second trimester.

Your healthcare provider should be able to give you clearer advice on how much exercise is safe for you and how long you can continue your workouts. It may be that you'll just need to switch to a less-intense form of exercise as your pregnancy progresses, such as walking or a light water aerobics class. A prenatal yoga class may also be a good solution for you.

Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy and two healthy babies!
