Lately, I'm always seeing parents hand over their iPhone to their kids. Whether this is a safe and healthy idea, is a much longer debate for another time. Still, many parents say that iPhones are a great way to keep little ones busy. If you agree then you're probably aware that there's one app that young kids cannot use - the Phone app. Of course you don't want your child accidentally calling people you don't know, or bugging people you do know. Now, the new Animal Phone, a child-inspired version of the iPhone, is available so that your kids have someone to call too.
“Instead of calling grandma or a playmate, children can call a cast of fictitious animals.” said Paul Chapman, Director at Long Weekend, the publisher of Animal Phone. Animal Phone is a free app that comes with one character, Graham Gorilla, but parents may purchase other animal friends to add to the app. All of the animals answer the phone, speak and interact. Animals even leave video voice mail messages for kids from time to time. + Animal Phone
