Guidelines
Thanks for your interest in keeping a diary on Pregnancy & Baby! We will now be providing two different kinds of diaries:
1) Featured Diaries -- Updated once a week, these journals are edited and added to the site by us. We only have a limited number of journals at any given time. (Click here for more details.)
2) Blog Diaries - If you'd like to keep a pregnancy journal, but want to set your own update schedule and upload your entries whenever you like, this option is for you! (Click here for more details.)
Featured Diaries
Our goal is to continually offer one pregnancy journal for each trimester of pregnancy. For example, we might have one writer newly pregnant (5-6 weeks), someone at 20 weeks -- all the way up until delivery! In certain cases, we may have an overlap -- and we understand that some will be closer together or further apart.
While we tremendously appreciate each offer of a journal, we regret that we cannot accept each one. Our goal is to have lively writers who want to share their experiences with many others!
What you should know:
If you're interested
Please let us know! Email an introduction to us at feedback@coincide.com. Be sure to include the following information: your name, your due date (and how many weeks along you are), whether this is your first or a later pregnancy, and a brief bio explaining who you are, how you feel about this pregnancy, and why you would like to share your story.

After acceptance
To get started, we need some photos from you, so site visitors can get to know you a bit. Ideally, include a photo of yourself, one with your partner (if applicable), and a shot of any other children you have. If you have an ultrasound, we'd love to have images of those as well. Feel welcome to take photos of yourself throughout these nine months! (Ideally, you can scan these images and email them to us.)
Journal updates appear each Tuesday, so we need to have your current entry no later than the preceeding Friday night. Entries should have a short title and always be numbered with whichever week (i.e. Week 8: Still feeling fine). To get more of an idea, click here to have a look at the other journals we have running.
Style notes:
- Do not use any special formatting or symbol characters. We specifically do not want "curly" quotation marks and apostrophes (automatically inserted by some word processing programs, although you can disable this replacement feature), fraction symbols (instead use 1/2, 1/4, etc.), ampersands (&); ellipses (... - instead use three periods and a space) and both en dashes and em dashes. (Please use -- for a dash.) HTML is somewhat limited and displays differently on various systems and browsers, so we like to use characters that display correctly. Only one space is needed before a new sentence.
- Please submit your finished articles within the body of an e-mail message (plain text-only format). If italics are needed for emphasis, please use asterisks: "She said that *usually* pregnant women..." or HTML <i>italics</i> tags. If you are chosen to have a featured diary, our editor will work with you to help you submit your entries in the correct format.
- Related links and book mentions are welcome. If there is a resource available which pertains to your topic, please feel free to include this information in a note at the end of your article.
- Submit your completed entries to christine@myria.com. If you send your entry and find there is a need for a change or addition, please re-send the entire entry, not just the changed portion.
