Dress Your Bump In Style

Being pregnant is one of the most joyful times in your life. It can also be one of the hardest – at least when it comes to your wardrobe! The Hatch helps you pick some perfect transitional pieces for every stage of your pregnancy.

Pregnant woman shoppingFirst trimester

For the most part, you may be able to get away with wearing most of your non-pregnancy clothes. But once items start to get tight, seek the help of a Bella Band, which allows you to wear your fave pants/skirt/shorts, etc. unbuttoned without fear of them falling down on you. During this time, make good use of your cute summer dresses to hide your bitty bump if you haven't yet made your pregnancy announcement.

Second trimester

Show off that belly, baby! The second trimester is really the cutest time to show off your bump because it's definitely there, but it's not so big that you can't (or don't want to) wear any snug clothing. Dress your bump in fitted tops with comfortable maternity shorts or skirts that have a forgiving waistband for your growing bump. Make sure that your clothes are fitted but not too tight that they restrict any part of your body. You can be cute and comfortable during this stage of your pregnancy.

Third trimester

Okay, you know we'd never lie to you. So here it is: The third trimester does get pretty uncomfortable for some (read: most) women. Your belly is in full force and you may experience swelling. To get through this stage in style, we highly suggest the maxi dress, which is flowing and loose, and long enough to cover up any swollen ankles or angry spider veins that may rear their ugly heads during this time. (Don't worry, this too shall pass!) The bonus here is that you may not even need to shop the pricey maternity stores for maxi dresses since they are so en vogue right now. Just buy a size or two up from what you'd normally wear if you choose to buy from the non-pregnant section of your fave store. Leggings and loose (but not tent-like!) tops are also a great combo for your final (yippee!) trimester.
