Our trip to Jacksonville was so much fun. It was the first time most of my mom's family had seen me pregnant - and the last time many of them would before the baby is born.

All of my aunts and uncles on my mom's side gathered Saturday morning for a breakfast shower for us. It was so much fun! Aunt Mary had the most adorable pink carriage baby cake for us, as well as yummy bagels and breakfast casserole.

I was a bit surprised there weren't any mimosas, as we usually start drinking at family functions as early as socially respectable, but I didn't miss them that much. We got a lot of cute stuff off of our registry - mostly baby bath supplies and diaper ointments. We also got the softest blanket. I would sleep with it if it weren't meant for Dorothy!

Needless to say, everything was geared towards a girl, so Rich and I are really hoping the doctors were right in their prognosis. Otherwise we will have a lot of returning to do after Daleth is born.

The best part of the shower, for me anyway, was arranging all of the things in Dorothy's room once we got back home. It's slowly filling up.

The rest of the weekend was fun. My aunt Paual's 50th birthday party was a blast - she had a great turnout. I was not really that upset that I couldn't drink. I just kept thinking - 11 more weeks, 11 more weeks of sobriety! Not that I'll be knocking them back after I deliver, but it would be nice to avail myself of half a glass every now and then, especially after a stressful day.

I think I will do myself the favor of having a small glass of champagne on New Year's, perhaps even a mimosa around Christmas. I will probably need the help getting to sleep anyway!PregnancyAndBaby.com
