While trying to conceive, karate should be just fine. Once you become pregnant, you'll need to speak with your healthcare provider about the safety of continuing the classes. If you work with a partner during the class, you face the risk of injury to yourself and/or your growing baby. If you want to continue in the class but work alone, that should be okay.
As with any form of exercise, tune into your body's signals: if something hurts or is uncomfortable, don't do it! Drink plenty of water before, during, and after each class to stay well-hydrated.
You should also avoid hyper-extending your knees, hips, elbows, and shoulders, especially once you enter your second trimester. You may find that, as your pregnancy progresses, you'll want to switch to a less intense form of activity to maintain your fitness level. Whatever you decide, just listen to your body!
Lisa :)
