A nutty peppermint mocha recipe

There is a Clark Griswold in every neighborhood or at least in every city. You know that person that puts even your best efforts to shame. Instead of trying to compete, throw in the towel and spend your time admiring other people’s hard work. You may never have an amazing light display, but you won’t have their sky high electric bill either. Grab a mug filled with a warm and festive treat and just sit back and enjoy the show.

Take advantage of the season’s most twinkling display and drive through the neighborhoods in your area with the best lights! The activity is free, so treat yourself and your date to a dinner out or consider grabbing a few sandwiches and have a picnic in the car while you gaze at homes lit up with holiday cheer. A quick internet search will likely tell you where the best displays are and some cities or businesses like the zoo may even have events of their own.

It’s likely to be chilly even if you stay in the car, so pack yourselves a mug filled with homemade peppermint mocha. Feel free to leave out the espresso if you don’t want the extra caffeine boost — peppermint hot chocolate is just as good. If you prefer to spike yours, save this drink recipe for when you get home and sip it while you cozy up in front of the fire.
