Kim Kardashian may be “stupid,” but if Jon Hamm didn’t realize she’d take offense to his evaluation of her, we think she isn’t in that category alone. The Hamm vs. Kardashian feud carries on!
Jon Hamm and Kim Kardashian are on track to have the most polite exchange of insults ever. Despite name calling, hurt feelings and incredulity, there’s a whole lot of respect happening here.
“It’s surprising to me that it has become remotely a story,” Mad Men star Jon Hamm told E! News Tuesday night in reference to his unflattering Kim Kardashian comments.
The utterances in question are, of course, Jon Hamm’s quips to Elle UK, “Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated,” he ranted. “Being a f***ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly.”
Attempting to clarify his remarks — without making any apologies — Jon Hamm shared Tuesday, “What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right.”
Also well aware of rights and such entitlement sits the insulted Kim Kardashian. In reaction to Jon Hamm’s initial comments she replied previously, “I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs and creates ‘stupid,’ is in my opinion careless.”
Perhaps it’s time for everyone to have a little less R-E-S-P-E-C-T about who is allowed to be offended by what, and say how they really feel. Jon Hamm set the ball rolling — it’s your turn to let those true feelings fly, Kim! We’ll even call you Ms. Kardashian if it gets nasty.
