IHOP teaming with The Lorax to plant trees

The Lorax wants you to plant trees — and IHOP is giving you the tools to do it with their new promotion inspired by the movie.

The Lorax is teaming with IHOP

The Lorax is set to roll into theaters Friday, but pancake mecca IHOP is already celebrating with a special promotion designed to encourage kids to plant trees. The breakfast restaurant is giving away three million bookmarks with tree seeds embedded into them.

Children ages three to 12 are eligible to snag this cool swag from The Lorax when they visit any of the IHOP locations around the country. The restaurant also has a few Dr. Seuss-inspired meals — The Lorax’s Breakfast, Pipsqueak’s Breakfast or Mac ‘N Cheese & Truffula Trees.

Why the partnership? IHOP senior vice president of marketing Natalia Franco told SheKnows that they appreciate the message in the film that stars Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, Danny DeVito and Betty White.

The Lorax encourages us all to be good stewards to Mother Earth,” said Natalia Franco, senior vice president, marketing for IHOP. “Our limited-edition bookmarks give families a fun and easy way to work together to make the environment three million trees stronger. In addition, we’re excited to offer guests family-friendly tips that inspire a greater appreciation for trees and show how even the smallest acts of kindness and respect toward the environment can make a big difference.”

We won’t lie: We’re thinking about snagging our nieces and nephews so we can get one of these sweet bookmarks. Plus, The Lorax-inspired meals sound delicious:

“The Lorax’s Breakfast includes an order of Green Eggs and Ham (eggs scrambled with creamed spinach) served with a choice of buttermilk pancakes, Truffula Chip Pancakes (whole wheat pancakes filled with rainbow sprinkles and topped with more sprinkles and creamy strawberry yogurt) or a Rooty Tooty Bar-Ba-Looty Cone Cake (a fluffy pancake with blueberries in a crispy waffle cone, topped with blueberry compote and sprinkled with powdered sugar),” Franco told SheKnows.

“For guests ages 12 and under, two new items headline The Lorax-inspired menu: Pipsqueak’s Breakfast, a kid-sized version of The Lorax’s Breakfast, and an order of Kraft (R) Mac ‘N Cheese & Truffula Trees (broccoli florets).”

Yum!

They’re also giving away a trip to Orlando to check out Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure Theme Park. Kids can enter by visiting the official contest website.
