Katy’s mother, an evangelical Christian pastor, is working on her latest mission from God: Getting her little “California Gurl” out on a date with the football hunk. Mary Hudson has allegedly taken it upon herself to help her daughter get over the heartbreak of losing husband Russell Brand — by setting her up with the squeaky clean Denver Broncos quarterback.
“[Katy’s] mentioned on more than one occasion how much she likes Tim. Katy’s mom firmly believes the best cure for heartache is to quickly fall in love again. In her mind, Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter. He’s handsome, charming, intelligent and, above all, a good Christian,” a source has revealed to OK! magazine.
Tebow was recently romantically tied to another soon-to-be divorcée: Olympian Lindsey Vonn. But that’s of little importance to Mary.
Insiders claim the matchmaking preacher is plotting to introduce Perry and Tebow at an upcoming church meeting. According to OK!, Mary has gone as far as inviting Tim to speak at the Huntington Beach house of worship where a pre-fame Katy used to sing as part of a ruse to organize a meetup.
Russell and Katy’s marriage came to a crashing end last month when Brand filed for divorce from the pop star.

On Dec. 30, Brand released a statement, telling fans they had decided to part ways.
“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”
The split confirmation followed mass speculation that the relationship was on the rocks because of hectic work schedules and a battle between the spouses over when to start a family.
Katy recently moved out of the Los Angeles mansion the couple once shared.
No word from Katy or Tim on whether they’ll soon be meeting up at church.
