Angelina Jolie’s kids see the world — not Hollywood

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six children aren’t ever bored to tears by lectures. Rather, their mother prefers to teach lessons by showing them the world.

Angelina JolieAngelina Jolie‘s approach to motherhood involves more doing and seeing than talking. The mother of six children with partner Brad Pitt believes her lecture-free method of raising children will result in well-rounded individuals untainted by Tinseltown.

“I’m not one of those moms who kind of lectures my kid,” Angelina Jolie recently told People. “But I do tell them, whenever I go on a trip, where I’m going and why.”

The 36-year-old, currently promoting her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey, continued, “And on some occasions, they’ve come with me to different refugee camps. And they also go to their home countries a lot.”

A visit to each of their birth countries means a major trip around the globe! Son Maddox is from Cambodia, Pax from Vietnam and daughter Zahara, Ethiopia. The couple’s biological children were also born abroad (Shiloh in Namibia and twins Knox and Vivienne in France).

There’s a purpose to all of this traveling — Angelina Jolie wants her brood to know life outside the glitz and glamour surrounding their famous parents.

She shared, “Hopefully they live in the world, and they see the world really as it is, outside of Hollywood. If they really live in the world and spend time with friends around the world from all different types of backgrounds, they will just see things as they are.”

Can you get behind Angelina Jolie’s lecture-free method of parenting?
