Adam Lambert and his boyfriend are making up after a fight at a Finnish gay club ended with their arrest.
Adam Lambert is sobering up after a fight with his boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen, landed the couple in a Finnish jail early Thursday morning.
Lambert and Koskinen were arrested outside the Helsinki gay club, DTM, around 4 a.m. Thursday after they got into a heated altercation inside the club. The pair took the fight outside and ex-Miss Helsinki, Sofia Ruusila, tried to get between the two. Lambert hit her by mistake, leading to his arrest, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The couple was released several hours later and Koskinen took to the web to explain their actions.
“Celebrities are people too and fame is not easy. Love is not always easy either, but it’s forever,” blogged Koskinen, a former winner on the Finnish version of Big Brother. He went on to say that his “hangover is gone already” and “paparazzi, police stations have back doors, too, go away already.”
The American Idol alum is no stranger to media scrutiny. He often talks about wanting his privacy and wonders why anyone cares about his sexuality.
“I’ve tried to keep that somewhat sacred, as far as that privacy,” he told OK! Magazine earlier this year. “It’s the one thing I have, you know? I think that’s not uncommon. A lot of people try to keep that private, but the good news is that I am in love, so that’s a good place to be. It’s a great time to be making music, I’ll tell you.”
His objections haven’t stopped media from spying on his every move, even in Europe. The couple is visiting Finland for the Christmas holiday. He even practiced his Finnish in a tweet shortly after arriving.
“Helsinki is a beautiful city full of beautiful people! Thank you!” he wrote.
Now, he’s using his native language to make a joke about the incident. “Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :).”
We’re glad they’ve made up. A break-up around Christmas would be messy — especially since they got matching tattoos not all that long ago.
