After spilling the beans about the gender of her best friend’s baby, Kelly Rowland made it up to Beyonce Knowles with one incredible baby shower gift: a blinged-out bathtub.
After having told the world the gender of pregnant Beyonce Knowles‘ baby, singer Kelly Rowland made it up to her best friend by buying one incredible baby shower gift — a Swarovski crystal-studded baby bathtub worth $5,200.
The singer received the special gift from Rowland, who used to be her bandmate in Destiny’s Child. Rowland let the cat out of the bag when she revealed the sex of the baby in a red carpet interview with Britain’s BANG Showbiz wire service earlier this month. In the interview she said, “I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyonce at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible. She won’t be spoiled but she will be very well-looked after.”
After that mishap, Rowland did have to make up for it somehow, right?
The baby-sized footed porcelain tub is covered in 44,928 imported crystals that were hand-crafted by California-based interior designer Lori Gardner. It took Gardner a reporteded two months to apply each crystal to the bathtub by hand.
Rowland bought Knowles a pink version of the 3,000 pound tub. The bathtub can also be converted to a beverage chiller for parties or used as a pet tub as well, according to the designer.
Hopefully the gift will help Rowland repair her faux pas with the parents-to-be. According to reports, there was no animosity from Knowles and her husband Jay-Z, but with a gift like this, Rowland has surely moved up in ranks as the baby’s favorite aunt. No doubt the mother-to-be is pleased.
