The Walking Dead: “Cherokee Rose” highlights

Lori got a surprise and Shane kept quiet while paying his last respects to Otis on this week’s episode of The Walking Dead.

What do you do when you’re asked to speak at the funeral of a man you helped turn into zombie food? You lie and do your best to keep it together. At least that’s what Shane from The Walking Dead did.

On this week’s episode of AMC‘s The Walking Dead, poor Otis was given a funeral, sans corpse, after becoming zombie food in last week’s episode (thanks to Shane shooting him in the leg).

Already conflicted over sacrificing Otis as a diversion to save himself, Shane is suddenly asked to say a few words about the man, while the rest of the gang looked on.

Shane played it cool, emphasizing how Otis sacrificed his life so Shane could get the supplies back to Carl (without mentioning that Otis didn’t really have a choice in becoming a zombie sacrifice).

Perhaps he left his part of the story surrounding Otis’ death out to keep the hopes of the others alive. Who knows.

Elsewhere, now that Rick and Lori’s son Carl is going to be fine, Herschel Greene seems antsy get rid of Rick and his pack. So much so, that he’s laid down a few rules that included forbidding guns on his farm — except one for a watchman.

Wait, they’re on a farm with no weapons and zombies running loose. Does anyone else find this creepy?

Walkers aren’t vampires — it’s not like they have to be invited in. Last time we checked, private property or not, they could make their way there — but then again, we’re sure you comic book fans already know where this is going.

In the other highlights of “Cherokee Rose,” Glenn and Maggie made their way to the pharmacy for two things: One, a pregnancy test for Lori. Two, some hot loving.

Which one do you care about more — the fact that Glenn and Maggie got steamy or the fact that Lori asked Glenn to get her a pregnancy test?

Well, we can tell you this — it’s positive and we don’t know whether her grim look is because of the zombie-filled world her child will be born into or if it’s because she doesn’t know who the daddy is — yes, we’re talking about Shane.
