Kate Gosselin’s parenting slammed again

Kate Gosselin‘s parenting skills are under fire once again after photos of her 7-year-old son playing underneath the family’s van are released, with child safety advocates citing safety concerns for her kids.

Reality television mom, Kate Gosselin is taking some heat once again for photos that show her son climbing beneath her family-sized van with his head ending up immediately behind the right front wheel of the car. Critics say the young boy narrowly escaped what could have been a fatal accident as he crawled under her van while the former Kate Plus 8 star sat behind the wheel.

According to Jannette Fennell, president and founder of KidsAndCars.org, Gosselin is lucky she didn’t end up running her own son over. She tells Radar Online: “A minivan is a 3000-pound lethal weapon and having children crawling around it is not prudent.”

The paparazzi snapped her son underneath the van when the reality television star pulled up at a parking lot to meet her kids’ school bus and take them home. Gosselin stayed in the car while her kids piled in the vehicle with their school bags.

“She should have gotten out of the car to supervise them, especially when you have that many children,”Fennell says. “Kids tend to put themselves in harm’s way in an instant.”

“You should never leave children unattended in or around motor vehicles. Even if they are all capable of getting themselves into the van and getting buckled up, children at that age are unpredictable.”

According to Fennell, motor vehicle accidents are the number one killer of children. Let’s hope Gosselin takes this into account the next time she picks up her kids.

“She is blessed she didn’t run him over,” Fennell adds.

It’s only a matter of time before we begin hearing what the kids’ father, Jon Gosselin, has to say about the incident, via the tabloid magazines, of course.
