Wedding bells will soon be ringing for Kate Hudson and Muse rocker Matthew Bellamy. The pair, whose first child is on the way, is engaged to be married!
A glowing Kate Hudson appeared on the Today show and happily spilled the news when host Matt Lauer inquired about her hard-not-to-notice gigantic ring. “I’m engaged!” the actress, 32, said. “It just happened a week ago. I’m so glad you noticed. I haven’t really announced it. I was waiting for someone to notice.”

As for details of Matthew Bellamy’s proposal, a very pregnant Kate would only say, “It was very sweet. It was very romantic.”

Accepting the proposal is a bit of a change of heart for Kate Hudson. In January, the actress shared, “I don’t feel it necessary to get married… I am 31, I already have one child and have had one divorce, so it is not necessarily the golden ticket. I just want to be happy.”
Speaking of marrying Matthew Bellamy, she also told InStyle, “My own parents aren’t married, and anybody who has seen how we love — open our arms, and accept people with all of their faults — knows I come from a great, happy home. A wedding is a beautiful thing and I love the idea of two people celebrating their love and bringing their families together. I wouldn’t count it out but Matthew and I kind of skipped that part and went right to the good stuff.”
Here’s hoping that Kate (who believes her baby will be a girl), Matthew, and her son, Ryder, find their own happily ever after.
