If you’re pregnant during the summer it can get a wee bit hot. Ok, it can get sweltering. One good way to cool down is with a nutritious icy treat; one that won’t pack on massive calories.
I saw this recipe in Fit Pregnancy a while back. While it’s slanted as Shamrock Smoothie - i.e. a good St. Patrick’s Day treat for mamas to be, I think it’d be perfect for hot summer days too.
“Ingredients:
1 cup low-fat (1%) milk
1 large ripe banana
1 cup lime sherbet
1 lime, sliced (for garnish)
Directions: Pour milk into blender. Add banana and lime sherbet. Blend until smooth; serve with lime garnish.”
Note: If you add ice to the blender, you’ll get the same treat, only a little colder. To see all nutritional info, visit Fit Pregnancy.
