To end this great day with rockin’ mama Stacey, I thought I’d give her the floor and let her offer a couple of quick, last minute, mama-certified tips.
Stacey’s favorite breastfeeding tip:
“Never give up. I bottle-fed my first three because I gave up too early. I stuck it out and breastfed the last two and we were all much happier.”
Stacey’s best overall parenting tip:
“You know your baby the best so if a tip works for you that’s fabulous but if not, toss it and go with what works best for you both. Oh, and stock up on Mr. Clean Magic Erasers — for the crayon that may ultimately grace your walls.”
Nice tips; Lots of women do give up on breastfeeding too soon but often times it’s because they don’t get the support they need and deserve. If you want to learn more about how to get breastfeeding support check out this recent P&B post. Also, Stacey makes an excellent point. Trust yourself to be the best parent you can. You do know what’s best for you and your baby. Both of you will be ultimately happier and less stressed if you forge your own parenting path. (Ears closed to people who tell you you’re wrong).
Last minute Stacey details:
Stacey used to work as a graphic designer for work at home mom (WAHM) businesses, and then decided that she wanted to spend more time with her girls. She currently dabbles, “In website design/editing/copywriting/graphics occasionally for past clients” and is working on writing her book.

This is such a graceful thing to say! Thanks. Before my daughter had her first, she had lost both breasts to breast cancer. She has such a hard time turning a deaf ear to “Are you breastfeeding?” Or even “How’s the breastfeeding going.” She and my son-in-law have a lovely chortling playful son who’s a year and a half old. They found their own path, but sometimes wonder whether it’s okay.

Thanks so much for stopping by; I’m really glad to hear that your daughter has managed to turn away from that chatter — but it’s hard… really hard. I can’t imagine how strong your daughter is. Thanks so much for sharing and pointing out that sometimes others should just be quiet because they have no clue what someone’s going through.
