I know that you’re all out there reading this blog — and I appreciate each of you who visits.
But something to consider is just how important your comments are.
I value your opinion because it helps to make this blog a better blog. More importantly, other mamas read what you think and gain insight when you leave a comment.
That said, Pregnancy & Baby has decided to have a contest to encourage reader participation. All you have to do is leave one comment on any one blog post between now and August 20th (12pm Pacific time) and your name will be entered in a random drawing to win a fabulous prize. I’ll announce the winner in a post later that evening.
I know some of you may think you have nothing to contribute — that’s not true. Each of you has something worth saying.

Ok, I’ll leave a couple of comments. First, I don’t usually, because, well I don’t think I’m the audience you’re trying to reach. Yes, I am a mom (of 3), but they are all grown and out of the house. But, I still like reading your blog, because I can learn things for the grandkids, and because it just is fun.
The other thing is, while I’m not a momma that rocks both my daughter-in-laws, and my daughter are all mommas that rock.

I thought your blog post about VBACs was great and would like to hear more from the other rockin’ mamas out there about their experience with them. For me it was a breeze - a quick, painful, 1-10 in five minute breeze - but what about the others?
Hold up your hands, how many didn’t have an epi that worked? grrrr.

Stacey, I hear a lot about epidurals not working. I don’t know much about why (I guess I should look into it). I don’t agree with epis too much because of the effect on the baby but I had one after I was in Labor for 2 days straight and exhausted. Because of complications with Cedar I had to give birth in a hospital and they threatened a C-section if I got too tired. Which I was.
So, I can see that an epi is necessary in some cases — mine let me sleep for a few hours (mine did work) and I avoided a C-section. But overall I think they’re too dangerous for mamas and babies.
Although, I will admit; at the time, after the 2 days of labor I thought it sounded pretty good. I remember thinking that the guy who gave me my epi was the best looking guy I ever saw (I have no clue if he really was — 2 days of labor will make you crazy).
