We love our YA novels, so we’ve been incredibly intrigued by Sarah J. Maas’ upcoming YA fantasy novel Throne of Glass. Critics have been raving about it for months, and it seems to be one of the rare books that actually will live up to all the hype it generates. To get ready for it, we’ve been reading the three original e-book only novellas that Maas has released. They feature the main character from Throne of Glass and though all of them function as standalones, they form one overarching story. The fourth novella, The Assassin and the Empire, is scheduled to be released in the next few weeks.
I am a Pole (And So Can You!)

Stephen Colbert is well-known for his late night news show The Colbert Report, but he’s branched out with his latest book, I am a Pole. This is a book for adults, rather than children, and you’ll crack up while turning the pages of this fun, clever book.

Beth Harbison, celebrated women’s fiction author, has recently released her latest book, When in Doubt, Add Butter. New releases sometimes remind us of backlist works that we haven’t yet gotten around to, so this would be the perfect time to pick up one of Beth’s backlist titles. We’re real fans of Hope in a Jar, which is widely available. It’s a feel-good novel you won’t be able to put down, and once you’re finished, you can pick up Beth’s newest novel.
The Playground: A Short Story
Ray Bradbury

With Ray Bradbury’s recent passing, now is as good of a time as any to revisit the author’s classic works. Though he’s most famous for novels such as Fahrenheit 451, he also wrote short stories. The Playground is especially dark and mysterious, and it was the first of Bradbury’s works to be published as an e-book. It’s short (only 23 pages!) but it packs a punch, and what’s more, it’s free to borrow for Amazon Prime members.
