Playing for Keeps

The bad boy who wants to go good

It’s every woman’s dream to see the bad boy want to turn good. And if you’re a strung out ex-soccer player and you don’t know what you want to do with yourself, it can be tough to make a commitment in life. But that’s what’s so sexy, right…? This internal struggle for bad boys everywhere is exactly what the new romantic comedy, Playing for Keeps, starring Gerard Butler hopes to examine. We hope they do it with a shirtless scene. Unfortunately, the new trailer out this week does not show enough skin!

We’ll have to stick with the story. When George, played by Butler, the sexy ex-athlete with a shady past, decides it’s time to clean up his life and coach his son’s soccer team, he gets into more than a bit of trouble with some of the moms.

His ex-wife Stacie, played by Jessica Biel, is happy that the father of her child has come back into the picture, but she knows anything that has to do with George comes with trouble. Isn’t that why she fell for him in the first place?

In this first look trailer, the comedy and the heartache come hand-in-hand from director Gabriele Muccino, who is known for his more serious work. He directed such titles as Seven Pounds, The Pursuit of Happyness and Remember Me, My Love.

Playing for Keeps kicks into theaters Dec. 7.
