1. Cut a piece of green construction paper in half crosswise. Cut a second piece of green construction paper that is 1 inch tall and 2 inches wider than the larger piece of construction paper.
2. Glue the long thin piece of construction paper to the bottom of the larger piece to form the leprechaun’s hat.
3. Cut a long strip from the black construction paper and glue it just above the brim of the hat, trimming the length if needed.
4. Cut a 2-inch square from the yellow construction paper. Fold the square in half and cut out a rectangle from the center. Glue the square at the center of the hat over the top of the black band.
5. Glue the hat to the top of the paper plate.
6. Cut out two ovals from the black construction paper, and glue them to the plate to form the leprechaun’s eyes.
7. Draw a nose and mouth on the plate.
8. Apply craft glue around the bottom edge of the paper plate.
9. Place multiple orange craft poms on the glue to create the leprechaun’s beard.

What you’ll need:

• yarn or string
• tape
• scissors
• colored craft beads (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)

What you’ll do:

1. Cut a 20-inch piece of yarn.
2. Take a piece of tape and tightly wrap it around one end of the yarn.
3. String one bead onto the yarn, slide it three inches from the opposite end and tie a knot around it.
4. Continue stringing the beads onto the yarn and stop when you have three inches of yarn on the side with the tape.
5. Tie a knot around the last bead you added to secure the beads.
6. Remove the tape.
7. Tie around your older child’s neck as a necklace.

What you’ll need:

• large apple
• kitchen knife
• green craft paint
• paintbrush
• paper plate
• paper

What you’ll do:

1. Put green paint on a paper plate.
2. Carefully slice a large apple in half.
3. Dip the cut side of the apple in the green paint.
4. Stamp the apple onto the paper four times to create a four-leafed clover.
5. With a paintbrush (or your finger), paint a stem from the clover.
6. Let dry and throw away the apple — do not eat it.

What you’ll need:

• poster board
• pencil
• magazines
• cotton balls
• craft glue
• scissors

What you’ll do:

1. Look through magazines and tear out pages that are colorful — you are going to want a large amount of pictures for each color of the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple).
2. Cut the pages into 1-inch squares.
3. With the pencil, draw a rainbow with six sections on the poster board.
4. With the craft glue, glue the red squares in the first section of the rainbow, orange squares in the second section and so on.
5. Glue a bunch of cotton balls at either end of the rainbow to form clouds.
