Lindsay Lohan’s quiet New Year’s Eve

by

Lindsay Lohan is staying in this New Year’s Eve. We hear the notorious party girl has decided to snub various six-figure offers to host year-end parties as she works to rebuild her tattered public image.

New Year’s Eve will be quiet at Casa de Lohan this year.

Lindsay Lohan is so serious about her efforts to move past her party girl image, she’s knocked back several lucrative offers to host New Year’s Eve bashes.

While the rest of Young Hollywood is ushering in 2012 to the beat of “Auld Lang Syne,” Lindsay will be spending a quiet evening at home.

While it’s no doubt hard for many celeb gawkers to picture Lindsay staying in with a nice cup of cocoa while other starlets hit the party circuit, that’s precisely what she’s decided to do, according to tipsters.

It’s an expensive choice for the Playboy magazine centerfold. Stars often pull in six-figure sums just for showing up at New Year’s Eve parties.

Two years ago, Lindsay herself pocketed $70,000 to host a six-hour pre-birthday pool party at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. She’s reportedly turned down offers for twice that amount to appear as a NYE hostess this Saturday night.

Insiders say the scandal-bitten tabloid darling is sick of being more famous for being a party girl than a respected actress. Lohan reportedly believes that if she stays out of the spotlight on the biggest party night of the year, she’ll be able to her rehabilitate her sagging career on the silver screen.

That’s quite a different tune than the one Lindsay sang in a chat with Entertainment Tonight back in June 2010. The then-23-year-old actress defiantly defended her right to party profusely.

“I work. And if I go out with my friends, I’m 23 and I’m allowed to do that. I don’t go out when I’m working,” she said at the time.
