Lindsay Lohan is being investigated for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, California store.
Fresh out of rehab, Lindsay Lohan is accused of stealing a “one of a kind” necklace from a store in Venice, California. Officials reportedly have a video of Lohan wearing the necklace.
“A search warrant was requested Tuesday at the Airport Court to search Lindsay’s house for the item of jewelry in question,” a law enforcement agent tells RadarOnline.
Before detectives had a chance to search her Venice home, TMZ is reporting that one of Lohan’s associates returned the necklace to the store, however, police could still file charges.
The 24-year-old actress remains on probation for her DUI case and could face more jail time if it is found she violated this probation. Her probation officer has been told about this investigation.
Lohan responded to the allegations by saying, “It’s (expletive) … I don’t have any necklace.” She says the necklace was loaned to her by her stylist who forgot to return it on time. “I didn’t have any part in the non-returning on time.”
This isn’t the first time that Lindsay Lohan has been accused of stealing jewelry. A $400,000 necklace from an Elle UK photo shoot went missing in 2009.
