Rachel Zoe‘s right hand man, celebrity makeup and hair stylist, Joey Maalouf, is giving SheKnows all his beauty tips for staying fresh while frazzled this Fashion Week.
After multiple seasons of Rachel Zoe’s show The Rachel Zoe Project, we know the fabulous mother of one is extremely busy during Fashion Week.
So what’s her secret to looking so put together? Her bestie, Joey Maalouf.

joey’s obsessed with:
Red-orange lips: “I’m really obsessed with a tomato red stain.”
Two-toned mascara: “I’m really obsessed with doing black mascara on top and a colored mascara on the bottom in plum or navy. I think that’s really modern and cool.”
Mix and match shadows: “I love mixing different colors of shadow. Instead of doing a black smoky eye, do it with a pretty pastel color.”
“She moisturizes and takes really good care of her skin, so that’s how it starts,” Joey told us. “You have to moisturize everything, head to toe. It’s like having coffee for me.”
He recommends the new line of anti-aging products from Dr. LeWinn by Kinerase, something he practically compared to magic.
Joey says once you set the foundation for great skin, you don’t need as much makeup to look fabulous.
“Take more care of your skin than the time you spend doing your makeup,” said Joey. “All you need is mascara and a tomato red lip. It’s like the fastest way to get glamorous.”
As a member of the Zoe team, Joey also has an amazing fashion sense, often serving as Rachel’s sounding board.
“I think that her collection this season was so impeccable,” said Joey. “I think that if I were a woman, it would be my dream wardrobe.”
Rachel’s life is pretty dreamy as well. Joey tells us that her son Skylar, who turns one this month, did “wonders for her.”
“He’s starting to talk here and there and dying to run around the house but not just yet,” said Joey. “He’s so delicious.”
We asked Joey if he had a gift in mind for the little fashion prince yet, but he told us he’s stumped.
“What do you get the most perfect child who has everything?” Joey asked us. “I give him my love and affection every day.”
